Words matter!

Speaking is an aspect of humans created in the image of God that separates us from animals. Language serves to both unite and divide individuals and cultures. Here are some clarifications of terms that connect Jews and Christians:

HaShem

• “The Name”

• the holy name of God which most Jews do not try to pronounce or speak aloud

• usually translated “LORD” in Christian Bibles

Ruach HaKodesh - Ruach Elohim

• the Holy Spirit - the Spirit of God

•  רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ - רוּחַ אֱלֹהִים

• the Word of God

• “Jesus” in Hebrew

• embodiment of the Word of God

• this name means salvation
