The Narrow Gate

הִכָּנְסוּ בַּשַּׁעַר הַצַּר,

כִּי רָחָב הוּא הַשַּׁעַר

וּמְרֻוַּחַת הַדֶּרֶךְ הַמּוֹבִילָה לַאֲבַדּוֹן,

וְרַבִּים הֵם הַהוֹלְכִים בָּהּ;

מַה צַּר הַשַּׁעַר

וְצָרָה הַדֶּרֶךְ הַמּוֹבִילָה לַחַיִּים,

וּמְעַטִּים הֵם הַמּוֹצְאִים אוֹתָהּ.

הכרזת מתי ז:יג

"Enter through the narrow gate,

for wide is the gate

and broad is the road that leads to destruction,

and many enter through it;

but narrow is the gate

and narrow is the road that leads to life,

and only a few find it."

Matthew 7:13

Let's ponder this passage and wonder...

• Could it be that the narrow gate is our personal relationship with God through Word and Spirit?

• Could it be that we need to enter individually regardless of which religion or congregation we belong to?
