Standing in the Gap

on one side:

spiritual but not religious

life and nature are intrinsically divine

the universe cares for me

all worldviews are valid

Jesus was one of many wise teachers

law of attraction determines destiny

meditation awakens awareness of now

on the other side:

my specific religion is uniquely correct

in interpreting inerrant Bible

speculations become theologies

profound mysteries are solved

those who agree with me are saved

in the gap:

the Word is highest scripture

inspired by Source

from Beyond time and space

verses activate and elevate our souls

layers of meaning speak to our spirits

transcend self

connect with glory of God's Presence

shimmering lights, rushing waters, sounding shofars

we seek to truly see and hear

שִׁמְעוּ־נָ֣א זֹ֔את

"Hear this please,

foolish and heartless people;

they have eyes but will not see,

they have ears but will not hear."

Jeremiah 5:21
