God is One

שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל

יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ

יְהוָה אֶחָד

דברים ו:ד

"Hear O Israel:

HaShem is our God,

HaShem is One."

Deuteronomy 6:4

This journey of our souls in bodies on earth begins and ends in eternity. Both Jews and Christians worship the same One God as Source of all. The difference between Jews and Christians who believe that the Bible is inspired from Beyond is tiny compared to the difference between them and those with other worldviews. Although traditions of men divide us, the Word of God unites us!

Please take a deep breath and consider that there are styles other than your own of living in valid and meaningful relationship with our infinite Creator. We need mutual appreciation and celebration of diversity among believers. As we embrace both our commonalities and our differences, we learn from each other and grow in love.

 

It's not about converting anyone; Yeshua did not come to start a new religion! Yeshua embodied Torah. As the living Word, the Way to God, he leads his followers into eternal life.

If the Bible is like:

• A smartphone - Torah is the device through which we know and connect with our Creator. Prophets and Writings, then Yeshua and shelichim, bring updates in understanding.

• A film with a sequel - Many Christians neglect Part 1, and most Jews reject Part 2. As we view Parts 1 and 2 together, we see beautiful integration of scripture, evidence that One Beyond inspired both parts.

• A home - The Tanakh (OT) is the land and ground floor. The Brit Chadashah (NT) is the second floor built on this foundation.

• A song - Let's learn the lyrics, play our different instruments, and sing together to worship the Source!

וּמָה-יְהוָה דּוֹרֵשׁ מִמְּךָ 

כִּי אִם-עֲשׂוֹת מִשְׁפָּט

וְאַהֲבַת חֶסֶד

וְהַצְנֵעַ לֶכֶת עִם-אֱלֹהֶיךָ

מיכה ו:ח

"He has told you, O man, what is good; 

and what HaShem requires from you,

to do justice, 

and to love loving kindness, 

and to walk humbly with your God."​
Micah 6:8

וְאָהַבְתָּ אֶת יְהוָֹה אֱלֹהֶיךָ

בְּכָל לְבָבְךָ

וּבְכָל נַפְשְׁךָ

וּבְכָל מְאֹדְךָ

וּבְכָל שִׂכְלְךָ

זוֹהִי הַמִּצְוָה הַגְּדוֹלָה וְהָרִאשׁוֹנָה

וְהַשְּׁנִיָּה הַדּוֹמָה לָהּ

וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ

בְּאֵלֶּה שְׁתֵּי הַמִּצְווֹת

תְּלוּיָה הַתּוֹרָה וְהַנְּבִיאִים

הכרזת מתי כב:לז-מ

​"And Yeshua said to him:

'You should love HaShem your God

with all your heart

and with all your soul

and with all your might 

and with all your mind.'

This the first and the greatest commandment. 
And the second is like it:

'You should love your neighbor as yourself.'

On these two commandments

hang the Torah and the prophets."

Jews often view Christians as idolaters. Christians often view Jews as unsaved. Within both Judaism and Christianity are many denominations and debates. Yet the One Almighty God is the Source of life and hope of all! For the sake of ourselves and the watching world, let's delve deeper and ascend higher, beyond our differences to the truth that transcends. 

​

Central Truths:

• God is infinite spiritual Being beyond time and space

• God is ONE - SOURCE of Word and Spirit

• Yeshua embodies the eternal living Word of God

• both Jews and Christians connect with our ONE SOURCE through Word and Spirit

​

Please ponder:

• the Word of God joins people of faith

• what we add to or subtract from the Word of God separates us

• the satan seeks to deceive and divide believers

• together in the Word of God we will unite to overcome lies with truth and fear with love! 

  

לֹא תֹסִפוּ

עַל-הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם

וְלֹא תִגְרְעוּ מִמֶּנּוּ

לִשְׁמֹר אֶת-מִצְו‍ֹת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם

אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם

דברים ד:ב

“Do not add

onto the Word which I command you,

and do not subtract from it;

to keep the decrees of HaShem your God,

which I command you.”

Deuteronomy 4:2

Trees in the Bible often represent people or congregations. What matters is whether our tree is rooted in the Word and nourished by the Spirit to flourish and yield fruit. As with various plants in a garden, parts of a body, or children in a family, it is good for us to maintain our distinct identities while functioning together to shine God's light!
